A group of students from the Biology Department, College of
Science of University of Sulaimani supported by the president of the university participated at the 2nd World Congress on
Undergraduate Research which was held on 23-25 May 2019 at the University of
Oldenburg, Germany.
The students of University of Sulaimani presented their
advanced research in the 2nd World Congress on Undergraduate Research in
Germany at the University of Oldenburg and their research project was about
using a plant extract as an alternative to antibiotics. The University of
Sulaimani project had scored highly among the projects.
Assistant Professor Dr Haider M. Hamzah, academic staff
member of University of Sulaimani, has supervised the research project and
accompanied the students during their participation at the 2nd World Congress
on Undergraduate Research.
Only about 217 research abstracts were invited and
confirmed for the 2nd World Congress on Undergraduate Research and University
of Sulaimani was the only university that participated from Kurdistan region
and Iraq in this scientific event.
