University of Sulaimani Delegation Participate at IG-CON ANNUAL WORKSHOP-CONFERENCE in Germany

A delegation from University of Sulaimani headed by President Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali is participating at Iraqi-German Academic Cooperation Network (IG-CON) 2016 ANNUAL WORKSHOP-CONFERENCE held in Erlangen, Germany from May 17-21, 2016.

 

The University of Sulaimani delegates, Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali (President) and Dr Karzan G. Khidhir (Director of International Academic Relations) joined Presidents and Directors of International Relations of other Kurdistan region and Iraqi universities at the CONFERENCE organized by German Center for Iraq Studies in cooperation with DAAD.

 

Iraqi-German Academic Cooperation Network (IG-CON) is a gathering of Iraqi and German universities or university departments already engaged or interested in academic cooperation and exchange programs among these two countries. The IG-CON Annual Workshop-Conference 2016 is attended by official delegations of all IG-CON member universities and invited speakers from other Iraqi and German universities. It is designed as a forum for the evaluation of the past and current cooperation projects, for the identification of promising future projects, and the discussion of the challenges of the German-Iraqi academic cooperation under the current conditions in Iraq.

 

During the meeting, University of Sulaimani President Professor Dr. Salahalddin discussed establishing new academic cooperation with German universities, strengthening the current relations and hosting the next international event. 

 

University of Sulaimani was honoured to host the next International Conference in Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region of Iraq during October 2016 on “Rebuilding War Societies: Continuities and New Beginnings”. This interdisciplinary conference aims to create a better understanding of the complex challenges of rebuilding war societies in post-conflict and ongoing conflict situations.
